Great article on snark. I had to delete my Reddit acct bc I got obsessed- quickly. I think for me what it boils down too- is there is absolutely zero consequences for influencers/health influencers especially- who push dangerous content about wellness- and re package harmful diet and exercise/firness culture - with "strong the new skinny" type tropes etc. I could go on. I had my para social time in there with one in particular bc I was super super duped by her prowess. It's a really mind eff to get scammed by these women and see their followers just cheer them on into oblivion for being so empowering. I think that's why snark is helpful to some - yes it can get vicious but if it opens the eyes up to people like me who are easily influenced- so be it

Your experience is so similar to mine. I am glad you got out of it, though.

I hate to admit it but I genuinely only snark on Acacia Kersey because her family and platform has caused real life harm to people.

Shut up literally. Snark subreddit bullied animal rescue girl to suicide. They are no better than 4chan or some other internet cesspits. It’s outright psychopathic behaviour.
